“Health” and “wellness” feel like empty terms nowadays, regularly tied with questionable commercial interests.  It’s time for a new word to reboot the concept of living life to the fullest.  “Vitality” prioritizes connection to truth and happiness through ownership and simplicity.  We believe that starting with these ideas will inevitably result in bodies that are clear examples of real wellness and health.


We see Vitality as a balance of five dimensions that reframe fundamental goals of wellness.  Rather than targeting symptoms, the objective is to understand a larger underlying picture, then build a sound foundation for optimizing long-range healthspan.

The following 5 categories of understanding provide a framework for individual Best Practices toward Vitality.   The first three are about choices, and the last two refer to basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology that help build a picture of how the choices work.


Vitality 5D: POISE

  1. Perspective (or Mindset)

A program of best habits can only be built upon a solid foundation of goals and values, and these will be specific to each individual.  Developing a clear understanding of these goals and values is a critical first step to attaining true vitality.

  1. Output

All forms of activity or behavior — mental, physical, social or otherwise — represent an outflow of kinetic energy.  What we do, or how we behave, fundamentally comprises who we are, and aligning behavior with mindset is far more successful toward achieving wellness than checking off boxes on rules and standards that are often irrelevant on an individual level.

  1. Intake

As kinetic energy is expended, it needs to be replenished.  In keeping with the variety of behaviors (mental, physical, social, etc.) that expend energy, the body has a variety of methods for absorbing resources to keep up the pace of activity.

  1. Signaling

We see the human body as a singular entity, but it also happens to comprise countless parts and systems. A vast array of communication paths are in place to bring all these parts and systems together in the unified body. Several of these paths have been mapped out to some degree (e.g., neurologic, hormonal), but in truth we are just scratching the surface scientifically. Staying open to the frontiers of physiology yet to be discovered is critical to gaining insight on how our bodies work, as well as understanding and addressing what doesn’t seem to work.

  1. Engine

Just as the engine of a vehicle is composed of material parts that mechanically interact to produce movement and is at risk for failure when there is damage, the physical parts of a human body warrant maintenance to support function. We help bring clarity to human anatomy so that clients can more easily visualize what does and doesn’t work, and why.
